Inpatient Rehab in Arizona

When clients first come to our Arizona inpatient drug and alcohol rehab center, Terra Nova Treatment, they enter our full-time residential living facility. In this safe, comfortable environment we can provide around-the-clock, medically-supervised treatment programs. Residential living allows us to conduct the full medical assessments, lab work, psychiatric assessments, and therapeutic evaluations needed to create individualized treatment programs. When you decide to come to our residential living facility, you will receive specialized attention from our expert clinical support staff. This is where your healing will begin.

What Are the Benefits of Residential Treatment?

After detox in Arizona, residential treatment—also called inpatient treatment or inpatient rehab—is the first step in your journey to recovery. This environment is proven to help former addicts succeed and re-establish good habits. While you are living at our residential facility, you will progress through the different stages of your treatment. These include our partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient program (IOP), and aftercare. These programs play a key role in allowing clients to master important life skills that will serve and assist them after they complete their treatment plan.

What is Residential Treatment Like?

Especially if someone’s substance use disorder is severe, it is best that they be surrounded by support and assistance as they progress along the way to long-term recovery. While living at our treatment center, patients will share a house with four to eight other clients. At the appropriate stage in their therapy, they will become responsible for:

  • Waking up on time
  • Getting a job (beginning with intensive outpatient treatment)
  • Attending group or individual therapy sessions
  • Making it to regular 12-step* meetings
  • Getting involved in service work or charity
  • Completing household chores and keeping living areas clean
  • Cooking their own meals
  • Being respectful to housemates

* A 12-step meeting is a gathering of individuals who come together to support each other in overcoming addiction, compulsion, serious shortcomings, or traumatic experiences by adhering to 12 guiding principles. You may be familiar with these meetings, such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), and Cocaine Anonymous (CMA), among others.

An important component of 12-step meetings is fellowship, which allows individuals to converse and get to know other members of the group. There are open and closed 12-step meetings, with open meetings allowing anyone to attend, while closed meetings are only for individuals who have a desire to stop using drugs or alcohol. During meetings, members do not mention their membership in other 12-step groups to maintain anonymity and confidentiality.

Why is Inpatient Treatment Important?

A person who has gone through intense addiction treatment is often starting a new life and re-learning many important life skills. This is an opportunity to practice making good choices with their time and energy, while still getting intensive therapy and working through trauma.

During this time, they are no longer spending time with drug-using friends. Instead, they are busy attending therapy sessions and 12-step meetings, forming new friendships based on sober, healthy interactions, and learning more about themselves. They are learning how to accept and manage responsibilities in a supportive, encouraging environment.

At Terra Nova’s drug rehab in Prescott, our environment is a critical piece of the recovery puzzle. It provides a way for clients to undergo the important therapy work done in our partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP), while developing important life skills in preparation for life outside rehab.

This environment is a vital part of our holistic approach to complete healing from addiction.

Benefits of Residential Treatment

One of the main benefits of residential/inpatient treatment is the level of care provided. Inpatient treatment programs offer 24-hour medical and emotional support, which can be especially important for individuals who are struggling with severe addiction or co-occurring mental health disorders. Inpatient treatment programs also provide a structured environment that can help individuals establish healthy routines and habits, which can be difficult to do in an outpatient setting. In addition, inpatient treatment centers like our Arizona residential drug and alcohol rehab center, offer the opportunity to focus solely on recovery. Inpatient treatment programs remove individuals from their daily lives and environments, which can be a major source of stress and triggers for substance use. This can allow individuals to fully focus on their recovery without distractions or outside influences. Inpatient treatment programs also offer a range of therapeutic interventions and activities that can help individuals address the underlying causes of their addiction and develop new coping skills.

As mentioned above, these may include individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and experiential therapies such as art therapy. Inpatient treatment programs may also offer educational classes and workshops on topics such as relapse prevention, stress management, and healthy communication skills. Inpatient treatment programs can also be beneficial for individuals who have tried outpatient treatment in the past and have not been successful. Inpatient treatment programs offer a higher level of care and support than outpatient programs, which can be especially important for individuals with severe addiction or co-occurring mental health disorders.

It is important to note that inpatient treatment programs may not be the best option for everyone. Inpatient treatment programs can be more expensive than outpatient programs, and they require individuals to take time away from work, school, and other obligations. Additionally, some individuals may not feel comfortable living in a treatment facility or may prefer the flexibility of outpatient treatment. In summary, inpatient treatment programs offer a high level of care and support, a structured environment, and a range of therapeutic interventions and activities that can help individuals address the underlying causes of their addiction and develop new coping skills. However, inpatient treatment programs may not be the best option for everyone and should be considered in consultation with a healthcare professional. Get in contact with our drug rehab in Prescott.
